Owners- Check-in – Checking the driver’s license

During this step of the check-in process, the Car Owner will be emphatically asked to check the Renter’s driver’s license. This check is done by filling in the last four digits of the Renter’s driver’s license, after which the given four digits will be compared to the data the Renter provided to SnappCar. If everything checks out, the Car Owner will be able to confidently hand over the car to the Renter, knowing that the Renter is trusted by SnappCar and is legally allowed to drive.

Why is checking the driver’s license a mandatory step during the check-in process?

Checking the driver’s license is a mandatory step during the check-in process because it brings another level of security and peace of mind during the rental. By verifying the driver’s license, the Car Owner will know that the Renter is indeed a trusted SnappCar user, and that the Renter is legally allowed to drive.

Where can I find the last four digits of the driver’s license?

What if the driver’s license doesn’t match?

SnappCar tries to remind Renters pro-actively when their driver’s license is about to expire so they can upload a new one in time. As such, a Renter will receive an email as a reminder, along with messages within their SnappCar account.

While SnappCar tries its utmost to remind and assist Renters to keep their driver’s license up-to-date on the platform, the Renter has the final responsibility for updating their driver’s license. If the provided numbers on their driver’s license don’t match during this check, the rental cannot proceed.
