It’s dissapointing when an owner needs to contact a SnappCar renter when a car has been brought back dirty, or dirtier than the state it was given in. We expect of renters that they handle a rental car with respect, and that they bring the car back in the same condition in which it was given to them.
We also ask the owners to send us pictures of the car if it has been brought back dirty so we can examine them. After that we will contact the renter that was responsible for the car during the booking and ask for an explanation: why was the car brought back in this condition?
When it turns out that the renter has caused the dirty car, we will arrange a car cleaning service. These costs will be for the renter that was responsible for the car during the rental. Please check our penalty policy for an overview of the extra costs.
Smoking in the car
Smoking in a SnappCar is not allowed, unless specifically mentioned in the car’s profile. It is also highly advised to ask the owner permission to smoke in the car as well: make sure to ask this during the check-in or during the key transfer.
When an owner contacts us about a lingering smell of smoke, we will contact the renter that was responsible for the car during the rental, where we will ask for an explanation as to why the owners wishes of a smoke-free car haven’t been respected.
If we find that there is sufficient evidence that supports the statement that there has been smoked in the car we will arrange a car cleaning service that will deodor the car. The costs for this service will be forwarded to the renter that was responsible for the car during the rental.
