How do I report a damage?

Should damage occur during the booking, you can indicate this in the following way.

After the rental period, you and the car owner complete the check-out and note the new damage by adding photos and a short description of the facts. When new damages are added at check-out, our Community Support team immediately receives a notification. After this report, Allianz will deal with the damage within 2 working days.

If Allianz has questions for you about the damage they will contact you.

After a thorough analysis of the damage report, and often also an inspection of the car itself, Allianz takes a decision on the settlement. This can take about four weeks.

European claim form

Only in the event of a collision with a counterparty is it necessary that you complete the European Claim Form together with the counterparty. For example, if there has been a collision and there is damage to the other party's car. The damage form can be found here: European Claim Form.pdf

Tips for completing the claim form:

  • Always enter the details of the car owner at 'data owner';
  • For 'driver', always enter the details of the person who was behind the wheel during the collision;
  • Try to fill in the form as completely as possible;
  • The details of the insurance company, Allianz, are already filled in for you.

Damage after check-out

An owner is able to add a damage to the rental up to 48 hours after the check-out, when he or she feels that this has happened during the rental. The damage case will be carefully reviewed by the insurance company, where they will contact both the renter as the owner to get both sides of the story.
