What a hassle to receive a traffic fine! Depending on the type of violation, the following guidelines apply:

1. Fines for speeding less than 30 km/h over the limit

Ask the renter to pay the fine directly to you. This is usually the fastest and easiest solution.

  • Send your request through the SnappCar app and/or WhatsApp.
  • Attach a photo of the fine to your message.
  • Provide a clear payment deadline, for example, within one week. Be sure to take into account the fine’s official payment deadline set by the issuing authority.

2. Fines for speeding more than 30 km/h over the limit

For violations above 30 km/h, you as the owner will receive a settlement proposal or notification of the fine.

  • Contact the CJIB (Dutch Central Judicial Collection Agency) to transfer the fine to the renter’s name.
  • Use the renter's personal details (found in the booking overview via the SnappCar website or app).
  • Important: Do not pay the fine yourself.

If you cannot resolve the matter directly with the renter

Submit the fine through the SnappCar form. We will process it as soon as possible and keep you updated on the status.
If you have received more than three fines for the same booking, please contact our Community Support Team directly via the chat instead of using the form.

Make sure you have the following details ready:

  • Booking number
  • Your car’s license plate number
  • Screenshots of the front and back of the fine
  • Screenshots of your WhatsApp or SMS messages with the renter

Note: Without this evidence, we cannot process your request.
