A deposit helps us keep SnappCar safe and reliable. It provides extra security for you and the owner. This way, we prevent costs such as extra mileage, fines, extensions, or the deductible in case of damage from remaining unpaid.
In addition, the deposit ensures that renters are more careful with the car and agreements. This way, we ensure high-quality SnappCar vehicles together.
How does it work?
Are you paying via iDEAL or credit card? Then we ask for a deposit.
After your trip, you can request a refund of the deposit via your profile after 72 hours.
Once you do this, the amount will be back in your account within 3 business days.
Would you rather leave the deposit in place? Then we'll just use it for your next booking.
Waiving the deductible
Depending on your risk profile, you have the option to reduce your deductible. To do so, you pay a specific amount that is automatically calculated by our system, this amount is charged per rental day. By choosing this option, you also won’t have to pay a deposit.
