We are happy to help you get started, safely and without hassle. Below you can read step by step what you need to do to verify your account.
The verification consists of 4 steps:
You enter your personal details (name, date of birth and address)
Confirm your phone number
Upload your EU driving license
Pay the one-time verification fee
💡 The verification fee will be refunded in the form of SnappCar credits. You can use these immediately for your first booking.
How to start the verification process
Go to your profile
On the website: click on your profile photo in the top right corner and select “Edit profile”
In the app: tap on the profile icon at the bottom
Check your details
Make sure everything is correct and really belongs to you:
First and last name
Date of birth
Address
Mobile number (you will receive a text message with a 4-digit code)
🔔Please note: if your details are incorrect or do not belong to you, we cannot verify your profile.
Upload your driving license
We will check whether your EU driving license is valid. What do you need to do?
Upload two separate, clear photos: front and back
Everything must be clearly legible.
You may cover your photo and BSN (point 4d), but point 5 must remain visible.
Only use .jpg or .png (no PDF).
Maximum file size: 10 MB per photo.
The name on your driving license must be exactly the same as on your profile and your bank account.
Manual verification required?
Sometimes it takes a little longer, for example if:
Your driving license does not have an expiry date.
Your driving license is from a different EU country than the one where you want to rent.
In that case, we will perform a manual check. This may take a few days. Send us a message via the chat in the app to start this process.

Verification costs
SnappCar charges a one-time fee to verify your account.
You pay this via a personal bank account in your name.
Payment via a business account or via someone else is not possible.
Your payment details will not be stored or reused.
The verification costs will be refunded in the form of SnappCar credits. You can use these immediately for your first booking.
