Yes, but only if the car is allowed to go abroad and you’ve selected international coverage when booking. If you haven’t done this and experience a breakdown abroad, our roadside assistance can still help you, but all costs will be fully charged to you. These costs can be significant.
You may travel abroad, provided that:
The owner has given permission to take the selected car abroad. You can check this by clicking on ‘extra car information’ and looking for a green checkmark next to ‘abroad’.
You’ve selected international coverage during your booking.
You are only allowed to travel to countries listed on the green card. In some countries, this card is mandatory. For more information about the green card, click here.
Do I get a replacement vehicle if the car cannot be repaired?
The goal of roadside assistance is to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. If this is not possible on the spot, the roadside service may arrange replacement transport by public transport or rental car. This depends on the situation and is always coordinated with you and SnappCar.
Within the Netherlands: maximum of 2 days replacement transport
Abroad: maximum of 4 days replacement transport
⚠️ Please note: Replacement transport will only be arranged if the car cannot be repaired within 4 calendar days. We therefore need a diagnosis first before replacement transport can be provided.
Do I get accommodation costs reimbursed if my car breaks down?
No, the SnappCar insurance does not cover accommodation, meals, or other extra costs caused by a breakdown. We recommend taking out a travel and/or cancellation insurance to cover these expenses.
Extra costs for roadside assistance in non-covered cases
We charge an additional €100 per case if roadside assistance is needed for the following situations:
Wrong fuel used
Breakdown due to not refueling or charging in time
Dead battery caused by leaving the lights on
Keys locked inside the vehicle
