Transport costs in the event of a breakdown
Do you need transportation to or from your hotel, train station, airport, or garage to pick up your repaired car? You’re allowed to travel by public transport, taxi, or Uber. You can be reimbursed up to €100. Always consult with SnappCar's support team to choose the best option together. Don’t forget to take a photo of your receipt for your reimbursement claim. This applies only when you’re abroad.
Reimbursement for overnight stay
SnappCar does not reimburse hotel stays or other additional costs due to breakdowns. Good travel insurance can often cover this, so check this carefully in advance.
Replacement car
If you experience a breakdown in the Netherlands and roadside assistance can’t fix the car on the spot, you’ll receive replacement transport, for a maximum of 2 days, but never longer than your original booking end time.
Abroad, replacement transport is provided if the car cannot be repaired within 4 calendar days. We’ll need a diagnosis first to confirm this.
You’ll always get transport that allows all passengers to return home safely. Please note: this won’t be a comparable vehicle. For example, if you booked a van, you won’t receive a van as replacement transport.
Additional costs in case of breakdowns caused by your own fault
Some situations are not covered by standard breakdown assistance. In those cases, we charge €100 per incident:

Wrong fuel | Diesel in a gasoline car, or vice versa |
Car stalled due to not refueling/charging in time | Empty tank or battery |
Empty battery due to forgotten lights | Lights left on |
Keys left in the car | Car locked, keys inside |
Prevention is better than cure, so pay close attention during your journey.
