If you receive a traffic fine that happened when the renter was in possession of the car it is important that you try and settle this with the renter. It is unfortunate when a traffic fine occurs but it is important that the renter resolves this adequately and transfers the costs of the fine directly to you.
If you can't solve it together with the renter you can always contact our Community Support.Always double check whether or not the fine occurred during the booking and to which booking it belongs. Please make sure that the entire fine is visible, since we’ll send a copy of it to the renter in the process of withdrawing the amount.
Settle traffic fine by SnappCar
First check whether the ticket has been made during a rental period and with which booking it belongs. Then send a copy of the ticket stating the booking number and a screenshot of the correspondence where you ask the renter to pay the ticket to email@example.com.

Administration costs SnappCar
We’ll process and collect the amount of the fine after receiving your message. This will cost the renter an additional €10 administration fee. We’ll transfer the money to your account, but you’ll be in charge of paying the ticket. Important to mention is that the fines will always be reimbursed by us, even when the renter neglects or refuses payment.
Note: Please remember to pay on time, as it’s your responsibility to pay the fine on time. SnappCar is not allowed to process any additional fees.
Ticket from abroad
The processing of foreign traffic fines is different in a number of cases. It is important, after checking whether the ticket was driven during the rental period, whether the letter you received is also the actual decision. You can recognise this by stating an amount (the amount of the fine).
In some cases you first have to fill in a form if you were the driver of the car at the time of the traffic violation. In that case it is useful if you contact the renter so that he or she can complete the form. You will receive the real ticket later.
On the form you enter the data as the owner of the car. Then you send this as a scan to the renter (his or her email address can be found on the Booking overview). You can add the text below, for example, in the mail to the renter.
I recently received a traffic fine from abroad. From the date and time I record that you were driving through my car via SnappCar. I have filled in all information from my side and the responsibility now lies with you to continue to deal with the relevant authorities.
