As a renter, you are responsible for any additional costs incurred during your journey. Below, we explain how this works in relation to fines, tolls and parking charges.
What happens with fines when car-sharing?
If you receive a traffic or parking fine during your rental, SnappCar will settle the fine on behalf of the owner and charge you for it. On top of the fine amount, we charge a €20.00 administration fee. This applies to all fines incurred during your hire period.
Am I responsible for tolls and low-emission zones when using a car-sharing vehicle?
Yes. As the renter, you’re responsible for all additional costs during your journey, including toll roads, low-emission zones and parking charges. In the Netherlands, an increasing number of cities have low-emission zones where not all vehicles are permitted to drive. You should therefore check in advance whether the car you’re hiring has access to your destination and whether your route passes through toll zones.
