Is your rental car broken down or unable to drive due to damage? That’s really unfortunate, we’re here to help. Call roadside assistance via the SnappCar app. Do you see warning lights on the dashboard? Stop driving and call immediately. Continuing to drive can cause additional damage, which we naturally want to avoid.
How to call roadside assistance:
Go to ‘My bookings’ in the app.
Open your active booking.
Scroll down and select ‘Contact Support’.
Select option 2: Roadside assistance.
Also let the owner know what is going on. The roadside assistance service will see if the problem can be solved on the spot. If not, the car will be taken to a garage.
Can't the car be repaired immediately?
Then check out via the app or website. Note the mileage, fuel level, and take photos of the damage. This will automatically start our claims process and notify the insurer (Allianz).
Replacement transportation
Roadside assistance will do everything possible to get you back on the road quickly. If that is not possible, replacement transportation can be arranged, depending on the situation. This could be public transportation or a rental car. This will always be done in consultation with you and SnappCar. In the Netherlands, there is a maximum period of 2 days.
Breakdown abroad
You’ll also receive roadside assistance abroad if you selected international coverage when booking and have the owner’s permission to cross the border. Without coverage, any costs incurred are your responsibility and they can be quite substantial.
Good to know:
Repairs can take up to 4 days.
If that's not possible, the car will be returned to the Netherlands.
Replacement transportation is possible for up to 4 days, in consultation with SnappCar.
Additional costs such as hotels or meals will not be reimbursed.
Check your travel insurance in advance, as it often covers these types of costs.
