For these bookings, you will meet the owner in person to collect the keys. Make sure you arrive on time and that your phone is charged and ready to use with the SnappCar app. You can check in from 30 minutes before the start time.
Here's how to check in:
Photos and damage check. Take photos of the car from different angles, as indicated in the app. Compare the car with the existing damage photos. Do you see anything new? Report it immediately via the app.
Enter mileage. Enter the current mileage. Sometimes the owner has already done this, but always check.
Note fuel level. Indicate how much fuel is in the tank, in percentages. This helps with fair billing after the trip.
Driver's license check. Show your driver's license to the owner so that he or she can confirm your identity.
Key transfer. Confirm in the app that you have received the car keys. This makes your booking officially active.
Do you have any questions about the car, such as refueling or where exactly to return it? Ask them now. Also, make sure you have each other's contact details for the journey. After completing the check-in, you will receive a confirmation by email and you are insured on the road.
Here's how to check out:
Click on ‘Check out’ in the app. This starts the process in which you confirm the status of the car together.
Enter the mileage. Enter how many kilometers have been driven. This allows us to finalize everything properly.
Check the fuel level. Indicate how much fuel is left in the tank.
Check for damage. Check the car for new damage. If you see any new damage, add clear photos and a brief description. This will be sent directly to our support team.
Return keys. Confirm in the app that you have handed the keys to the owner.
You can then optionally leave a review. Good to know: you have up to 48 hours after the end of the booking to complete the check-out. After that, the booking will be automatically closed and you will no longer be able to make any changes.
